What is Tasbeeh?
Tasbeeh (تسبيح) comes from the Arabic root س-ب-ح meaning to glorify or praise. In Islamic practice, tasbeeh refers to the act of glorifying Allah by repeating phrases of praise and remembrance, most commonly "SubhanAllah" (سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ) meaning "Glory be to Allah."
Muslims traditionally use a string of beads — known as misbaha, tasbih beads, or dhikr beads — to keep count. These typically come in sets of 33 or 99 beads. However, counting on one's fingers is also from the Sunnah, as the Prophet ﷺ encouraged it.
Allah says in the Quran: "Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest." — Quran 13:28
